Looking from Carrer Barcino to Carrer de la Madriguera we can see two partition walls with a very different finish: on the left a brick wall, with an air chamber for thermal insulation and some holes to prevent condensation and humidity in the building and to the right a wall in which a more modern insulation has been placed. The air chamber with its holes serves as a nesting place for various species of birds such as falcons, crossbowmen, sparrows and even pigeons, depending on the size of the entrance. Sparrows, but especially falcons and crossbowmen consume huge amounts of insects, which is why they are tremendously beneficial to us.
