The Association Germanetes Jardins d'Emma is a non-profit organization with two main objectives: to make the neighborhood more sustainable and to generate community in the neighborhood, collaborating with the environment to achieve an active community that includes the neighborhood, the schools and public institutions with social objectives and other entities such as collectives and cooperatives in the neighborhood.

The main projects of Germanetes Jardins d'Emma are the following: the Germanetes Urban Garden, the community garden; Espai Nur, the community garden; Aula Viva, the pedagogical project; Revolta Eixample, the community composting project, and the Resource Bank, which lends materials to the different entities in the neighborhood.

The association seeks to make this as assembly-like, horizontal and transparent as possible. Each project has its own governance body, the entity has a coordination group with representatives of each project where attendance is open and, finally, every November the general assembly takes place, which is the body with the most power within the association.
