3. A palace of nature

On Passeig de Sant Joan, before reaching the Diagonal, you suddenly find a building that demands your attention: La casa macaya

The Macaya house is nature. Each and every corner of them has life.

Art and nature have gone hand in hand since the beginning of humanity. It was already painted in caves, and here art has been made everywhere.

Casa Macaya is an architectural gem of Catalan modernism (Josep Puig i Cadafalch, 1898), a jewel in every sense.




You see a column and you find plants growing there. Animals on the stairs, coming to life.

The sea and its colors on the tiles.

Flowers in wrought iron, capitals and walls.

Art and nature in its purest form. In stone, iron, plaster and wood.
