The Private Foundation of the Technological Institute of Construction of Catalonia - ITeC is a non-profit foundation created in 1978, which carries out its activity in the field of the construction sector.
The aim of the ITeC, as a support organization for innovation, is the generation and transfer of information and knowledge, and the provision of technological services, to improve the competitiveness of the agents in the construction sector : professionals, companies and entities. This objective is part of the commitment to sustainability understood from its threefold aspect: technological, economic and social.

The ITeC has always been a sensitive entity with these goals and has been a leader in some initiatives related to the reduction of environmental impacts, always providing useful tools to the different agents in the sector.
One of these tools, the BEDEC (Structured Data Bank of Constructive Elements), has since 2004 environmental data, which allow us to know impact values ​​related to CO2 emissions, manufacturing energy, waste generated, content of recycled, and others that will be gradually incorporated until completing the indicators most used in the analysis of the life cycle.
