Who are we:
We are an international, economically and politically independent environmental and pacifist organization that does not accept donations or pressure from governments, political parties or companies. Greenpeace uses direct nonviolent action to attract public attention to the global problems of the environment and drive the solutions needed to have a green and peaceful future.
We work for:
Stop climate change.
Protect biodiversity in all its forms.
Prevent pollution and abuse of oceans, land, air and fresh water.
Promote peace, global disarmament and non-violence.
Actions of peaceful protest
We exist to denounce environmental criminals and challenge the government and companies when they fail to fulfill their mandate to safeguard our environment and our future. To fulfill our mission we have no permanent allies or adversaries. We promote open and informed debate about society’s environmental choices. We use research, the main hall, and peaceful diplomacy to pursue our goals, as well as nonviolent confrontations to increase the level and quality of public debate.
Our ships
Greenpeace’s fleet of ships is a unique asset in the battle to protect Earth. Our ships are a vital tool for our campaigns, they allow us to be witnesses and act in the face of threats to the environment.
Volunteering
Volunteers are the soul and engine of our organization. They are people who, with will and conviction, have decided to act to protect our planet.
