Francesc Cambó had his house built in Via Laietana in 1925. Eva was dazzled by what had been done in Chicago after the great fire of 1871 that had devastated the city, skyscrapers, elevators and green roofs and decided to imitate it. The architect was Adolf Florensa who designed a two-level roof. Rubió and Tudurí were in charge of the green cover, who built a gazebo and a pond on the upper level, and mulberry and orange trees on the lower level. The recovery after the war was carried out by the landscape architect Joan Mirambell.
