
The Biblioteca Can Rosés comes from the ancient Cortes Public Library, opened in 1971 and located on the first floor of the headquarters of the District. In 1986 he moved to the building of Can Deu Civic Centre, where he served until he finally moved to settle in the present location at the farm Can Rosés, a building restored In order to allocate it to a library.
Can Rosés is a farmhouse built in the first half of the eighteenth century and renovated in 1900. It is rectangular, with three stories tall, Arabic tile roof and two sundials.
The house was fitted out as a school until finally, in the Illa Diagonal built in 1993, was included in the rehabilitation project of building a library that opened the new headquarters of the month May 1994.
Initially part of the Library Network of Barcelona Provincial Council and managed by the District of Les Corts in agreement with the Council. Since 2001 is part of the Consortium of Libraries of Barcelona, as established in the Libraries Plan of Barcelona 1998-2010.
