Aspanias was born in 1962 thanks to the courage and drive of a group of families who, united by the same goal, founded this solidarity entity concerned with the equality and rights of people with dependency. His commitment to improving the quality of life and conditions in the face of functional diversity and, especially, intellectual disability, has meant that today, more than 60 years later, we continue to work for well-being of families who need it. The entity is structured in three large blocks: CDIAP, AREA SOCIAL and SAT, from which it provides six different services. The requirements of the ASPANIAS Management System apply to all these services: • Residential Home: The residential home is a specialized care social service with the aim of preventing social exclusion and promoting the provision of personal support , of information, attention and help to groups affected by an intellectual disability who have difficulties integrating into society, lack of personal autonomy and social marginalization. It is a temporary or permanent residential care service, replacing the home, which has the main objective of rehabilitating and enabling the affected person, as well as achieving the maximum improvement in quality of life. The functions of the rehabilitation and habilitation program are: accommodation, reception and coexistence, maintenance, personal care, personal hygiene, interpersonal relationships and social integration, habits of autonomy, rest and leisure. Each user attending the home-residence will follow an individual educational and rehabilitation program that will be drawn up and put into practice by the Home's technical team. At the same time, this program will always be coordinated with the daytime rehabilitation services where the person served is linked. Social coordination is in charge of the Barcelona Social Services Consortium (CSSBcn). • CDIAP: The CDIAP service is part of the basic network of Social Services of public responsibility, dependent on the Department of Social Rights, with the aim of attending to children under the age of six (and their families) who have disorders in the development or risk of suffering them. Its functions are to prevent, detect, diagnose and intervene therapeutically, with a multi- and interdisciplinary nature. It is made up of a team of professionals in psychology, occupational therapist, speech therapy, physiotherapy, social work and neuropaediatrics. It is a completely free service for the child, which can be requested directly by the parents or guardians, by the school or referred by the health services that attend to the child. • Therapeutic Care Service (SAT). It is a private therapeutic center aimed at detecting and addressing dysfunctions, pathologies and adaptation difficulties from birth to adulthood, as well as counseling and guidance for parents, the school and the rest of devices in the family environment. It is made up of a team of professionals in psychology, speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychomotor skills, social work and music therapy. Within the SAT, we offer the "No child without attention" Scholarship Program, where we offer subsidized or free therapeutic treatments for children and families in situations of social and economic vulnerability • SAFE. It is a specialized service in intellectual disability aimed at individuals, families and/or professionals from other services, both public and private. Since its creation, we have organized different actions all aimed at supporting families in their roles as caregivers of a person with DID. We offer our professional experience to enrich the families' own resources and accompany them in their process since they are aware of their child's special needs; either through groups of families or specific talks. It includes an Attention Service and Legal Guidance for families.
