In 1968, a group of teachers, parents Barcelona organized to stock up on the best conditions of quality and price, material quality and specialized educational school for the school, family and cultural consumption. Born this way Abacus cooperative, an organization originally built by its consumers since 1986, also includes its employees as partners.

Currently Abacus citizen community consists of nearly 900,000 consumer members and over 500 members work, aiming to transform the consumer experience and cultural, educational and leisure collaboratively responsible and sustainable. We are a cooperative ownership share and pass on the benefits, while expanding the social impact. Abacus is committed to invigorating the country with its 46 establishments in Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands. The cooperative is a reference of confidence that seeks a balance between economic and social impact of their activities, betting management with equity, participation and sustainability.
