The Palau Sant Jordi, designed by the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, was built on the occasion of the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games on the mountain of Montjuïc, forming the so-called Olympic Ring together with the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, the Esplanade Olímpica and the Sant Jordi Club. The element that most distinguishes it is the dome, which was built at ground level and raised for 10 days by 12 hydraulic jacks to reach its current position.
