Cívic Roof is a citizen initiative, currently comprised of more than 600 members, which promotes access to and housing, based on the model of transfer of use (MCU). Formally, it is constituted as: an association of public utility, with the aim of promoting the participation and the self-organization of the citizenship and to spread the cooperativismo in cession of use; and a joint non-profit housing and non-profit cooperative, with the aim of hosting housing projects based on the transfer of use. Acquiring different projects facilitates mutual support between projects, guarantees the common good of these projects and assets, and the reinvestment of possible surpluses in a new cooperative housing.
