The Museum of Natural Sciences of Barcelona is an institution with more than 130 years of history that conserves an estate of more than three million units in the fields of mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, zoology and botany.
This valuable fund has been boosted year after year with specimens obtained thanks to private donations, agreements with the Zoological Park and the natural parks of Catalonia, as well as the Museum's own research.
The headquarters of the Museum
The Museum of Natural Sciences of Barcelona is distributed in different locations located in three strategic areas of the city: the Ciutadella Park, the Montjuïc mountain and the Parc del Fòrum.
The first one is the Martorell Museum and the Three Dragons Castle building, while in Montjuïc there is the Botanical Garden and the Historic Botanical Garden. In the Parc del Fòrum, the Blau Museum, where new facilities are allocated mainly for public programs: exhibitions, workshops, conferences, media library, etc ...
